How To Register A Domain Name

A Click Faster prepared this tutorial to assist our new customers with selecting and registering their first domain name.  It can also be used as a refresher for customers who need one.

The tutorial is reduced down to the most basic steps required to select and register a domain name.  Don’t let the number of steps intimidate you.  We provide screen shots of each page with directions and comments for each.

While this tutorial only covers domain name selection and registration, we also provide many other website products.

Step 1,  Selecting a Domain Name is as easy as typing the domain name you would like to register into the box below and click on the Search button.  NOTE: when you click on the Search Button the results will open in a new window.  With 2 windows open you can refference this tutorial and the registration site at the same time.

The new window will look like the screen shot to the left. The red text near the middle is the domain name you requested. 

The boxes below the red domain name shows the availability of the domain name with various extensions.. 

The first box on the left allows you to select all the domains listed. This option is only recommended for experienced users.

The second box on the left is the availability of your domain name with a .com extension. 

The third box on the left is the availability of your domain name with a .net extension. And so on for the rest of the boxes.

If the box has a yellow background, the domain name is taken and the options here are only recommended for experienced users.

If the box has a white background, the domain name is available to be registered and the price is listed. To select this domain name for registration, click on the small button inside the box.

Next, click on the orange and white "Continue" button near the bottom of the page.
